Lekshmi Rajesh

Lekshmi Rajesh serves as the Academic Coordinator for the School of Engineering and as a Senior Lecturer in Civil Engineering at the University of Greater Manchester RAK Academic Centre, UAE. In these roles, she provides academic leadership across the School while contributing to teaching, research, and programme development in the field of Water and Environmental Engineering.

With over 20 years of professional experience, including five years in industry and extensive experience in higher education, she brings a wealth of expertise in teaching, research, academic administration, and curriculum leadership. Her academic practice is underpinned by a strong commitment to student success, quality enhancement, and the advancement of engineering education.

She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Kerala and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Calicut, India. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK, and serves as Faculty Advisor for the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Student Chapter at the RAK Academic Centre, actively supporting student engagement and professional development.

Lekshmi is currently pursuing a PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of Sharjah, UAE, with a specialisation in Water and Environmental Engineering. Her research focuses on the synthesis of nanoparticles for the removal of antibiotics from wastewater, contributing to the development of innovative and sustainable solutions to contemporary environmental challenges.
